18-inch LG can curl up the TV screen to get started: just roll

When I walked into the demonstration room of LG Display, I didn't realize at the beginning that I would experience the TV in the future. Curved OLEDs and 8K TVs are all things that we've heard but don't really experience. After getting started with LG's completely OLED TV screen, we had to express our emotions. This screen is so thin that its thickness is only 0.18mm. It can be rolled up like a piece of paper.

This screen is 18 inches in size and can be rolled up tightly. It has a stand behind it as a support and is embedded in a plastic shelf for display.

In the exhibition room, this roll-up TV screen is playing the night view of the city skyscrapers, as well as other display images.

During the show, we were able to appreciate the screens placed on the shelves and gave us a screen that we could put in our hands.

When I was in my hands, I just felt that I had a plastic poster in my hand. It could be folded, bent, and could not be torn. Of course, this mirror-like screen cannot play any image while in our hands.

However, we are still several years away from a full-featured, rollable TV that supports wireless power and supports input performance.

LG said that the next step is to expand the screen size to more than 18 inches, the current resolution is still a bit low, only 810x1200, not enough, because it is OLED screen has a super high contrast, so the current picture can also reach a satisfactory level .

Some people may ask, what's the use of buying a roll-up TV? Maybe it can prevent crushing, and it is more portable and can be brought anywhere in the bag. Perhaps, shortly afterwards, we will be able to pick up a screen to read news, flash microblogging, and roll it up in their pockets when not in use.

In addition to the 18-inch OLED screen, LG Display also introduced a 55-inch design concept OLED TV display, which is individually mounted and comes standard with a 65-inch extreme curved concave/convex OLED display. The display is thin and light like paper. However, we did not have the opportunity to experience it for ourselves.

In addition, LG Display also exhibited 65-inch and 77-inch UHD OLED TV panels. It is said that these two UHD OLED TV panels provide extreme picture performance in terms of contrast, color accuracy and viewing angle. The 65-inch and 77-inch UHD OLED TV panels display perfect black, provide perfect brightness, and have high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities, claiming to provide quality and color gamut comparable to that of edited comedy movie pros.

LG Display also highlighted the potential of OLED technology in the commercial arena, and introduced a 55-inch double-sided display that can display different video images on both sides and a 139-inch vertical tile that is composed of 8 double-sided 65-inch OLED panels and S-patterns. OLED (VTO) display. The 139-inch vertically tiled OLED display is said to display different video images on each side.
