Tips: How to detect if the TV leaks?

Light leakage mainly occurs on a liquid crystal television or a liquid crystal display. When the liquid crystal display shows a black image, more light leaks around the screen, making the periphery of the screen appear brighter than the center. There are many reasons for the light leakage. The light leakage on the black screen is mostly seen around the screen, and it also appears on other parts of the screen. CRT and PDP TVs generally do not suffer from light leakage.

Leakage is an inherent flaw in the imaging principle of LCD TVs. Due to the presence of the light leakage phenomenon, the displayed black image is not black, the contrast is reduced, the brightness uniformity is deteriorated, the image layering is blurred, the sharpness is reduced, and the image quality is deteriorated. In the related standards of a liquid crystal television or a liquid crystal display, it is specified that when a 0% black image is displayed, the intensity of light leakage should be less than or equal to 4 cd/m 2 .
