Calculating the electricity bill, the 40-watt incandescent lamp lights up for 600 hours (equivalent to the first half of the year), the electricity cost is 14.64 yuan, the 8-watt energy-saving lamp lights up 600 hours, the electricity cost is 2.93 yuan, and the energy-saving lamp is 11.71 yuan more than the incandescent lamp. That is to say, after the 8-watt energy-saving lamp is lit for more than 600 hours, the electricity cost saved can almost recover 12 yuan more than the cost of buying an incandescent lamp.
