HTC:VR or Spring Vive Wireless Headwear Soon to Come

"Now we are in winter, but it is actually VR in the spring." In this recognized year of VR, there is a voice that the VR industry has been cooling rapidly. The VR industry has cooled recently and it is going to get into the winter, but in the president of HTC Vive China Wang Congqing seems to be the opposite.

VR is still spring, wireless version of Vive is coming soon

At the inauguration conference of the Virtual Reality Industry Alliance held earlier in the period, Wang Congqing said in an interview with the media that in the virtual reality industry, for example, the artificial intelligence industry, there is a great opportunity for financing.

He believes that the so-called capital winter is a phenomenon encountered by industries such as the highly competitive traditional industries, the Internet, or purely mobile Internet.

According to Wang Congqing, HTC now has hundreds or even thousands of companies expressing investment intentions each time it announces that it needs financing. In Wang Congqing's opinion, positioning a good VR will certainly not disappoint its customers and consumers in the entire industry.

When it comes to VR devices, the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Sony PlayStation VR are the three products that are the easiest to compare.

When Phoenix Technology asked how to see the Sony PS VR, Wang Congqing smiled. "I don't talk about their hardware problems. I'm saying a lot of developers give me feedback to optimize one that can run on the PlayStation. VR games or applications are very tired ."

He explained that the PS4 is probably the host computer three or four years ago. Can you think of what it would be like to get a Vive console running three or four years ago? He said that the current cost of computers supporting the HTC Vive has been dropping, and that computers with a good experience can now be bought for under 4,000 yuan.

In addition, for the issue of whether the second generation HTC Vive will launch a wireless version, Wang Congqing told the media that when HTC feels that it can achieve a good experience and can remove the line, it will definitely release something. He said that the wireless version of the HTC Vive should come out faster than everyone's imagination.

Applications go beyond entertainment, Vive sales far exceed expectations

Games and other entertainment areas are currently the most widely used areas of VR applications. Wang Congqing said that HTC will continue to expand the application of VR technology beyond entertainment.

According to him, in order to allow better experience of VR equipment into colleges and universities across the country, HTC recently had a new branch specialized in the field of education landed in different universities across the country.

At the MWC 2015 in March last year, HTC officially released the HTC Vive virtual reality headset. Its excellent immersive experience has won wide acclaim from the media and consumers.

When asked about the sales volume of this product, Wang Congqing said that he far exceeded expectations and was very satisfied with the current progress, but he could not disclose specific data.

From the latest reports, HTC recently announced that September revenue rose 41% from the previous month to reach 9.33 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 297 million US dollars), which is HTC's best result since last November.

Although the reasons behind the revenue figures can only be seen when the HTC third quarter financial report was released on November 1, some analysts believe that this good performance is mainly due to the strong performance of the HTC Vive VR. It has been reported that HTC has sold 140,000 Vive headsets worldwide and shipped 40,000 units in the past two months.

Wang Congqing believes that some of the giants created by the VR industry will far exceed those created by the computer era, the Internet era and the mobile phone era. Obviously, on this transitional road, he hopes HTC can get a new life with Vive.
