Google Waymo driverless car measures its performance on ice and snow

According to a report from the US media on October 26th, Google’s Waymo plans to test the performance of its self-driving cars in extreme weather conditions in Michigan, USA, and whether it can cope with harsh environments such as ice and snow.

Waymo has been developing self-driving cars for eight years, but its self-driving cars were mainly driven in warm and dry weather conditions. WaymoCEO John Kolafik said, “The complex winter environment will affect the driver’s vision and the way the vehicle is handled. Self-driving cars are also facing such challenges. This test will help companies evaluate their sensors in damp and cold conditions. The performance in the environment."

Waymo tested in Michigan, closer to the autopilot technology development center it set up in Michigan last year, and also closer to other automakers working with Waymo, such as Fiat Chrysler.

Rick Ned, the state governor of Michigan, said, "The people of Michigan know how to drive in the winter, and I look forward to seeing how Waymo's engineers can make next-generation self-driving cars meet these challenges."

High Voltage Slip Ring

High voltage slip ring is also called high voltage slip ring, high voltage resistance slip ring, high voltage collector ring, high voltage convergence ring and so on. High voltage usually refers to the alternating curred by the slip ring, and the voltage to the ground exceeds the conventional 380V AC/DC path.
