In March, the mobile phone industry is far from quiet. This month, several major manufacturers are set to unveil their new devices, including Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, Charm Blue, Sony, and Honor—each bringing something new to the table.
Among these, both Xiaomi and Huawei have officially announced their release dates. Huawei will launch its P20 series in Paris on March 27th, while Xiaomi will officially reveal the MIX 2S in Beijing time on the same day.

The Xiaomi MIX 2S is considered a mid-term update to the original MIX 2. Rumors suggest it will be powered by the top-tier Snapdragon 845 chipset, with performance benchmarks already reaching over 270,000 points. Beyond just performance, many are curious if the MIX 2S will bring any significant innovations in design. That’s what makes this release so exciting.

Recently, a fan-designed concept of the MIX 2S has been circulating online. The design removes the chin entirely, achieving nearly uniform narrow borders on all sides. While not a true full-screen device, the visual impact is impressive—more dramatic than the iPhone X. The design also features a vertical dual camera setup and retains a circular fingerprint sensor, suggesting that Xiaomi may not yet have adopted screen fingerprint technology.
Of course, with current technological limitations, achieving such a design would be extremely costly, which doesn’t align with Xiaomi’s typical strategy. If the actual MIX 2S looks like the concept, would you be tempted to pick it up? It's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
