Philips launches 60-watt LED light for less than $15

Recently, Philips Lighting also began to sell 60W-LED lamps with a price of 14.97 US dollars. Unlike Cree, this bulb has only the dome of the upper hemisphere. Previously, Cree introduced the first LED-A-lamp with a full range of light distribution and dimming, ranging in price from $9.97 to $13.97.

Both companies are designed to look similar to traditional incandescent lamps. The launch of the new product is a sign that the price of the 60W equivalent LED lamp is less than $10. In fact, Philips Lighting CEO Ed Crawford promised to launch such a product this year.

In order to lower the price, Philips' design has eliminated the dimming function, and the $14.97 10.5W LED bulb provides 800 lumens. It is well known that Philips' retrofit lamps use remote phosphor technology, and the new 3000K lamp actually uses remote phosphors. Crawford explained that Philips engineers can reliably position phosphors on LEDs without being The LED produces heat effects that cause it to change color.
