According to foreign media reports, in order to meet the growing demand for products, Cree leased a warehouse of 80,600 square feet in Durham, North Carolina, USA. The warehouse will be used to store products waiting to be shipped to the distributor.
Mike Watson, vice president of product strategy at Durham, said in a statement that because it is used as a warehouse, only a small number of new employees will be dispatched to work in the warehouse. It is possible to set up only one or two jobs.
As of July 1, Cree had 7,065 employees, including 2,463 employees in North Carolina.
In addition to manufacturing indoor and outdoor LED luminaires, Cree also produces LEDs and other components used by other companies in lighting products. Cree's LEDs are used in a wide range of applications, including cell phones, televisions, car dashboards and other devices.
