Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon processor

In the past year, Snapdragon 800 series processors were mainly high-end smartphone manufacturers, but the revised Snapdragon 801 and 805 did not improve much performance. Although many manufacturers have begun to use the Snapdragon 805 with Adreno 420 GPU, in fact, this SoC (system-on-a-chip) 300Mbps LTE-A download speed is not much better than the current level of the industry.

Instead, consumers are looking forward to the Snapdragon 410, 610 and 615, which will be released later this year. These SoCs are based on the 64-bit ARMv8 architecture. Of course, they don't represent Qualcomm's top 64-bit SoC designs.

These processors will not be much better than Qualcomm's products this year in terms of performance. The Snapdragon 410, 610, and 615 all use ARM's Cortex-A53 processor core, which is a follow-on version of the Cortex-A9, not a later version of the more powerful Cortex-A15. Qualcomm said that the performance of these processors can reach the current Cortex-A9 level, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 quad-core Exynos 4412 SoC is the current level of representative.
