Diodes Incorporated has launched two high-efficiency and low-noise 3W mono Class D audio amplifiers PAM8013 and PAM8015. Both products are packaged in a super tiny QFN1515-9L package with a size of only 1.5mm x 1.5mm x 0.75mm , Specially designed to support the miniaturization of portable products such as MP3 players, tablets and smart phones.
PAM8013 and PAM8015 provide two different pin options to simplify circuit board wiring to meet different design requirements. This series of amplifiers uses an output structure that does not require an external LC filter, thereby reducing the number of external components and reducing the PCB area.
The two amplifiers use a differential input mode to ensure low noise performance, high Power Supply rejection ratio, and good total harmonic distortion characteristics. When powered by a 5V power supply, they can provide up to 3W of continuous output power capability for 4Ω loads.
The new device can guarantee a power supply voltage range of 2.8V to 5.5V, thus supporting a variety of different battery configurations. Their output efficiency is as high as 90%, and the shutdown current is less than 1µA, which helps to better extend the battery life of the system.
In order to prevent harmful circuit overload, the two amplifiers integrate protection circuits such as short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and under-voltage lockout circuit with self-recovery function.
